What is REDCap?

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a flexible and secure web-based survey and form tool. Designed specifically to support data collection for various types of research, REDCap can be set up to meet a variety of security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, etc). It is used as a research tool by over 8,000 organizations worldwide!

REDCap is supported by WSU Spokane Information Technology Services and is reserved for data collection related to health sciences and human research. For non-health sciences activities—such as casual polls or other non-research data collection—please use Qualtrics.

REDCap Features

  • Data Collection: Create and manage online surveys and data entry forms.
  • Data Validation: Ensure data accuracy with real-time validation checks for a variety of data types and ranges.
  • Audit Trails: Track all changes made to your data, including who made the changes and when.
