PowerPoint Narration

You can record a PowerPoint presentation and capture audio, ink gestures, and video. When you’re done, it’s like any other presentation. Play it for your students in a slide show or save the entire presentation as a video file.

Prepare for your recording session:

  • Practice your lecture to eliminate stumbling blocks and to get comfortable with the flow of your content.
  • Make sure you are in a quiet space.
  • Test your audio and video equipment. Most Laptops with a webcam have a built-in microphone .
  • Optional: Headphones with a microphone create even clearer audio.

Microsoft provides an in-depth tutorial on how to record narration with PowerPoint.

Narration is difficult to edit, so it is typically all or nothing! Remember, if you want your recording to go smoothly, practice beforehand.
