Prepare for a Leave of Absence
Before officially starting a leave of absence, please review the following four applications to ensure you’ll keep everything you need! Then, understand which applications you’ll lose entirely and which applications you’ll keep while on leave.
OneDrive
- Action may be needed
Migrate any files you’d like to keep to a personal cloud storage account. You will lose access to OneDrive three terms after your last active enrollment. Detailed instructions are available here.
Google Drive
- Action may be needed
Migrate any files you’d like to keep to a personal cloud storage account. You will lose access during your Leave of Absence. Detailed instructions are available here.
OneNote
- Action may be needed
All notes should be saved to a personal account, or they will be lost. Migrate any files you’d like to keep to a personal cloud storage account. You will lose access to OneNote three terms after your last active enrollment. Detailed instructions are available here.
E.Flo MD
- Review Recomended
You will retain access to E.Flo MD, but some of your access will be adjusted and restricted. You may want to review My Cohort resources, sessions, assignments, and Assessment and Evaluation tasks to see if there are any files you’d like to download.
Zoom
- Review recommended
You will lose access to your WSU-licensed Zoom account. All meetings should be rescheduled on a personal Zoom account. You should also download any cloud recordings you’d like to keep.
If you have borrowed any equipment from the Office of Technology, please return it prior to beginning your Leave of Absence. You can email medicine.tech@wsu.edu for more information.
What You Lose
Office 365
- No action required
All Office 365 applications, including OneDrive, remain available to you until three terms after your last active enrollment (including Winter and Summer terms). If you are on leave for longer than three terms, your account will be unlicensed until you return. Content will be automatically deleted 90 days after your account becomes unlicensed. Please backup your OneDrive and OneNote files.
G-Suite
- No action required
You will lose access to the G-Suite associated with your WSU email.
iBooks
- No action required
You will lose access to all CBL iBooks, but any textbooks will remain on your iPad.
B-Line
- No action required
You will lose access to B-Line and your Clinical Skills videos.
What You Keep
Medical Education Applications
- No action required
You will retain access to medical education applications provided by the college, so you can continue to study. If you have trouble accessing them, contact us for help.
Complete Anatomy (formerly 3D4Medical) requires you to renew access each summer. We will email you with updated access information when it becomes available.
Slack
- No action required
You will continue to have access to Slack but will be removed from cohort-specific channels like #eflo-messages-20xx, #curriculum_20xx, and #medtech20xx.
iPad
- No action required
You will continue to have access to your iPad .
Panopto
- No action required
You will retain access to videos and session recordings for your cohort from before your Leave of Absence.
When You Return from a Leave of Absence
- You will regain access to all applications that you lost.
- Your role within E.Flo MD will update to your new assigned cohort.
- You will be added to cohort-specific Slack channels for your new cohort.
- MedTech will contact you to make sure you can access and get signed into everything.
