Welcome to the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine! To be fully prepared for entering medical school, we have a list of required and recommended activities that you should complete ahead of Welcome Week. When you have questions or need help, know how to reach the Office of Technology (MedTech). Our contact information is below.
Incoming Student Checklist
- Sign the iPad user agreement by July 24, 2026.
- Create a new Apple ID or sign in with an existing one.
- Choose your iPad pick-up time, with 30-minute appointments available August 10–14, 2026.
- Review the college’s technical requirements to ensure your personal laptop is sufficient for testing by August 14, 2026.
- Ensure that your laptop is compatible with the NBME exam software. Complete the Workstation Certification following our instructions and contact us if you have any questions or issues.
- Optional: Apply to be a Student Tech Lead by July 7, 2026. More information about the STL program is available here.
- When instructions are sent to you over the summer, set up your WSU credentials and know how to log in with them.
- Review the College of Medicine-provided student guide of applications and know what you’ll have access to as a student. Please be aware that you will not receive access to most applications until matriculation. If you have questions about these resources, reach out to the Learning Experience and Design Unit (LEAD-U).
- If you have any questions or concerns about the technology used in the program, reach out to the MedTech team.
