This page provides a brief summary of several learning resources that will be made available to you beginning at Welcome Week, and you can click into any of these resources to learn more!
Learning Resources
Here are some of the College of Medicine learning resources purchased for students in the pre-clinical years 1 and 2. Additional resources are made available in the clinical years 3 and 4. During Welcome Week, you’ll receive access to these resources.
COMPLETE ANATOMY
This 3-D anatomy application works on iPads and personal devices. It includes highly customizable views, quizzes, and courses. >>
AMBOSS
A learning resource featuring a library of articles, videos, and an extensive USMLE-style questions that can be used for self-assessment and college-provided exams. >>
SKETCHY MEDICAL
A study tool using mnemonic devices and quizzes to help students memorize material in Pathology, Pharmacology, and Microbiology. >>
OSMOSIS
A study tool for medical students providing videos, flashcards, quizzes, and high-yield notes. The platform utilizes spaced repetition to help you retain information. It also features custom study schedules to help you stay on track. >>
Essential Tools
You’ll use the following applications almost every day with your WSU credentials.
E.Flo MD is a custom curriculum- and learning-management system. You’ll use E.Flo MD to access your academic calendar, session objections and resources, and more.
During Welcome Week in August, you’ll be onboarded to E.Flo MD and receive training on how to use the platform.
WSU provides the full Office suite to students, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and OneNote. These applications can be installed on your personal device and your ESFCOM iPad or accessed via your web browser.
As an incoming student, you can only access Outlook via a web browser. On the first day of class, you’ll receive full access to Office 365, including the ability to download and use the applications on your personal devices.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is WSU’s added step to protect your security and privacy. MFA is used by approximately ninety WSU applications, including: Office 365, myWSU, Zoom, Canvas, and more. Okta Verify is a mobile application that you use for Multi-Factor Authentication.
Slack is a communication and collaboration tool. It’s typically used for messaging and file sharing that has more immediate needs than email.
In August, you’ll be onboarded to the official WSU College of Medicine Slack workspace.
Zoom is a video-conferencing platform used for meetings and remote classes.
Your WSU Zoom account will be fully activated on the first day of class, allowing you to schedule longer meetings and record meetings to the cloud.
Panopto is where we process and store classroom recordings. Whether we are in a physical or remote environment, all large-group sessions will be recorded unless otherwise stated in advance.
