How do other students use their iPads?
iBook reading, CBL research, class notes and lab review in notability, WSU email, EFlo, slack. So pretty much everything I do for school!
I started out trying to do pen and paper, but I use my iPad for everything from notetaking to schedules and to-do lists!
I use the Notability app to download the lecture PowerPoints and take notes on them using the Apple Pencil that came with our iPads. This helps consolidate all of my work into a single yet simple place.
- sketching anatomy and other inherently visual things to understand fine grain details of anatomy
- using the 3D thieme app
- taking notes [with Notability] "on top of" lecturers' PDF slides.
I absolutely love that the school provided me with an iPad. My favorite app is Notability with the Apple Pen. It's been so very helpful. Throughout pre-clinicals I used it to take notes. Especially for anatomy where I used it to draw structures and label them in a way that works for my learning. For learning microbiology and pharmacology, Sketchy and Notability were invaluable. My iPad has also been so helpful when I need to scan documents. In Clinicals, it's been nice to have something portable for preceptors to complete assessments.
iPads have basically taken the role of a laptop for me, and have saved me thousands of dollars I would have otherwise spent on a laptop. I use it everyday for classes, workshops, and clinicals. There's a ton of great apps that let me organize my note-taking and my studying.
