NAME
KiBeom Kwon

YEAR/CLINICAL CAMPUS
Class of 2025/Tri-Cities

FUN FACT

I can eat Korean food every day. I never get tired of it!

What’s your pre-med school technology background?

I didn’t have an extensive technology background, nor did I have technology work experience. I would describe myself as a tech dummy! However, I became more interested in technology when I had a chance to participate in medical hackathon events, where I was able to collaborate with people from business and technology sectors. I even had the honor of winning the grand prize at the 2019 Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Hackathon!

With my future MD degree, I hope to build positive synergy and bridge my clinical experience with a variety of stakeholders in healthcare!

What’s your favorite app?

Spotify, because I can listen to a variety of playlists.

What’s the best part about being a Student Tech Lead?

You get paid to be present in mandatory sessions! And the team is full of smart, talented, and good characters of people.

How do you plan to incorporate technology into your practice as a physician?

I envision myself collaborating with people in different healthcare fields to develop a prototype to manage chronic conditions or devoting myself to community outreach or patient education through social media.

Aside from technology, what do you nerd out over?

I love going to symphony concerts and periodically check the symphony calendar to see which musician or conductor is playing/coming to town.

What is your number 1 tech tip for med students or faculty?

The Office of Technology goes above and beyond helping any tech issues that may arise. Please reach out!
