Every month, we’ll get to know one of the Student Tech Leads!

NAME
Chantelle Roberts

YEAR/CLINICAL CAMPUS
Class of 2026/Tri-Cities

FUN FACT

I listen to classical music while I study.

What’s your pre-med school technology background?

Basically, I was a tech user, but I was always the “go to” for questions from my co-workers and family before they call the REAL experts.

What’s your favorite app?

Personal: Waze—it works in every country I have been to and helps me avoid traffic and/or cops!
School: AMBOSS

What’s the best part about being a Student Tech Lead?

The team! My colleagues are amazing and so quick to help. The support from faculty is also wonderful. This is the first position I held where I feel that I cannot do wrong, as there is so much understanding by those who surround me.

How do you plan to incorporate technology into your practice as a physician?

I see telemedicine advancing and the use of equipment being more versatile. These advancements will increase access to care and the effectiveness of telemed to provide improved care. Also, simply teaching patients how their devices can aid in the healthy living.

Aside from technology, what do you nerd out over?

I am a motor head. Off-roading, biking, and all around working on motors is my jam! If I am not talking tech or medicine, I am talking gears. Just wired that way! 😉

What is your number 1 tech tip for med students or faculty?

Ask for help—or YouTube it! Time is so scarce as working professionals and students, and spending time stumbling though tech or using tech at less then its full potential is wasting your time. Even outside of tech, YouTube can educate and provide answers in a matter of minutes. And of course, when in doubt, cycle the power!
