Every month, we’ll get to know one of the Student Tech Leads!
What’s your pre-med school technology background?
No formal background! But I do have an extensive background in playing video games and have always enjoyed getting know technology/working on how to become more efficient with it.
What’s your favorite app?
I would say 3D4 Medical Complete Anatomy. Although anatomy was only one quarter long, I used it almost every day during my surgical clerkships to brush up on anatomy before heading to the operating room.
What’s the best part about being a Student Tech Lead?
The people! The food! The technology! The MedTech team at the College of Medicine is the best, and they are always so willing to help you inside and outside of school. They also had a lot of snacks at their office, and if the VR machine is available, you can play Beat Saber!
How do you plan to incorporate technology into your practice as a physician?
My time as Student Tech Lead helped me develop a strong interest in incorporating technology into healthcare and surgery! I am hoping to work on surgical innovation and surgical education research during residency; I want to explore how augmented reality and 3D printing can be used in surgical training.
Aside from technology, what do you nerd out over?
Coffee/Espresso machines! Double nerd out if you show me a manual espresso machine. Triple nerd out if you show me your La Pavoni.
What is your number 1 tech tip for med students or faculty?
