Every month, we’ll get to know one of the Student Tech Leads!
What’s your pre-med school technology background?
I was in the U.S. Navy for a long time prior to medical school and worked with a wide variety of technologies.
What’s your favorite app?
Amboss is super helpful, and if you only have time for one resource, it is comprehensive.
What’s the best part about being a Student Tech Lead?
Interacting with the students and faculty. This is one of the most supportive environments I have ever been in, so it is great to feel useful, like I am giving back.
How do you plan to incorporate technology into your practice as a physician?
So much of what we do and how we do it now is wrapped up in technology, whether it is using productivity tools to present a research topic to colleagues or running platforms to analyze data that improves patient care. I see technology as a foundational requirement to operating as a professional in today’s world.
Aside from technology, what do you nerd out over?
I love flying helicopters!
What is your number 1 tech tip for med students or faculty?
The Help functions on many of the applications and platforms we use today are excellent as a first resource, but if that cannot help solve your problem, DO NOT SIT IN THE DARK—message the MedTech team on Slack or send an email. Everyone on the team is super helpful and can help you find a solution, or even just point you in the right direction!
