New microanatomy models in Complete Anatomy!

Complete Anatomy has introduced new microanatomy models! They can be used alongside the gross anatomy model for a much more detailed view of different levels of cells and tissues.

Find them by selecting the Model from your main screen, then in the lower left corner, the Model Icon. There is a pop-up window, and the Detailed tab will show all the new and available Microanatomy models.

New Models

  • Smooth Muscle
  • Cell Membrane
  • Small Intestine
  • Pancreas
  • Spermatogensis
  • A model of the Euk Cell is also planned.

The Edit Screen workflow

Improvements have also been made to improve the logic and flow for the Edit Screen workflow. When selecting a Screen, if the Model is changed during the editing process, the app will recognize this as a New Screen automatically.

To edit an existing Screen, choose the small green tab on the thumbnail, and choose the Pencil Edit icon instead.

E.Flo MD calendar subscription now shows Required vs. Optional

During a Welcome Week session with the Class of 2028, a question came up: Does the E.Flo MD calendar subscription feed shows if an event is required or optional? Due to many difficulties and restrictions that come with the calendar subscription feed, this information did not originally come through. We understood how useful this could be, though, so we took it as a challenge to figure out how to make this work.

You asked, and we answered!

The events added to your calendars through the subscription feed now include the words (Required) or (Optional) after the event title. While this is a minor change overall, we hope that its impact will be large!

2024 Information Technology in Academic Medicine conference

Members of the Office of Technology team recently attended the 2024 Information Technology in Academic Medicine Conference in New Orleans. This annual conference is sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Information Resources (GIR) and brings together established and emerging leaders in technology and data-focused roles within the academic medicine space.

Conference Highlights

The conference featured sessions on navigating AI, project management, instructional design, and much more! It was an amazing opportunity to connect with individuals from across the country and hear about what others are doing and how we can learn from each other.

Erika Fleck and James Henderson also received an honorable mention for the GIR Excellence Award for their 2023 presentation (and a later webinar): "From Chaos to 30,000+ Strategically Managed Tasks," on the implementation of Asana and project management across the college.

This award acknowledges a contribution with an innovative national or institutional impact that serves as a model for other institutions to follow.
